Job Description Summary:

Responsible for providing nursing/medical inpatient/outpatient services of Adventhealth within the scope of practice of licensure and as outlined in the Collaborative Practice Agreement and is responsible for eliciting patient histories and conducting comprehensive evaluations. Clinical management of neurosurgical and neurological patients in the ICU, particularly invasive hemodynamic and intra-ventricular monitoring - which includes drainage of cerebral spinal fluid from the brain. Clinical management and knowledge of the AHA Stroke Management Patient Care Guidelines. Adheres to Adventhealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Job Description:

Schedule: Days; 3/12's various days weekend and holidays required

• Performs advanced patient assessments considering age and psychological development
• Develops individualized treatment plans using established therapeutic principles
• Initiates, manages, and evaluates diagnostic and treatment regimens
• Interprets laboratory, electrographic, and radiologic findings to guide care
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing and medical interventions against patient outcomes
• Provides timely and appropriate responses to life‑threatening emergencies
• Educates patients and families based on individualized learning needs
• Assesses discharge needs and coordinates outpatient follow‑up recommendations
• Collaborates effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Communicates patient goals, care plans, and concerns clearly to staff and leadership
• Participates in team conferences, quality improvement, and performance initiatives
• Maintains accurate documentation, progress notes, and order entry in the medical record
• Engages in continuous professional development and maintains clinical competencies
• Provides clinical leadership, mentorship, and contributes to evidence‑based practice development
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Master's of Nursing

Field of Study:

• Nursing

Work Experience:

• 1+ year of experience with intra-ventricular device monitoring, drainage, and management [Required]
• 1+ year of experience with endovascular patient management [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]
• Certified Neuroscience RN (CNRN) [Preferred]
