Sr. Claims Adjuster - Police Professional Municipality

Job Description

The Resolution Manager is responsible for handling complex municipal liability claims involving police professional misconduct, law enforcement liability, and civil rights allegations. This individual will investigate, evaluate, and manage litigated claims through resolution while working independently with attorneys, municipalities, and insurance partners. The role requires strong judgment, emotional resilience, and the ability to manage sensitive matters involving law enforcement agencies and public entities.

• Manage a portfolio of complex municipal and law enforcement liability claims
• Investigate allegations of police misconduct and civil rights violations
• Oversee litigated claims from assignment through resolution
• Partner with defense counsel to develop litigation strategies
• Analyze liability, damages, and settlement opportunities
• Work directly with municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and insurance partners
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and reporting
• Handle sensitive and high-exposure claims with professionalism and objectivity
• Independently manage a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of claims handling experience

• Experience with municipal liability claims

• Experience handling police professional misconduct claims

• Experience managing law enforcement liability matters

• Strong litigation management experience

• Experience handling Section 1983 (Civil Rights) claims

• Comfortable learning and utilizing claims management technology Active adjuster or legal license in home state

• Public entity pooling experience

• Captive insurance program experience

• Experience handling sexual abuse claims Experience investigating claims involving officers acting outside established policies or procedures
