Job Purpose and Impact

The Environmental Health & Safety Assistant performs routine administrative tasks supporting environment, health and safety programs in assigned areas. Working under general supervision, this job maintains records, prepares documentation, supports routine coordination and tracks information related to environment, health and safety management systems, risk management, compliance, training, reporting and process documentation. This job supports operations and functional teams by helping complete recurring environment, health and safety activities in alignment with established procedures and requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • EHS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM & BUSINESS INTEGRATION: Performs routine support for environment, health and safety management system activities by maintaining documentation, preparing information and supporting coordination with operations and functional teams.

  • EHS RISK MANAGEMENT: Assists with environment, health and safety risk identification and tracking activities by maintaining records, documenting findings, coordinating routine follow up actions and supporting implementation of risk control activities.

  • EHS STANDARDS DEPLOYMENT & CAPABILITY BUILDING: Supports environment, health and safety standards, tools and training activities by preparing materials, maintaining training records and assisting with routine communications.

  • COMPLIANCE AUDIT & INSPECTION: Assists with environment, health and safety compliance activities, audits and inspections by preparing documentation, maintaining records and coordinating routine follow up actions.

  • PERFORMANCE MONITORING & REPORTING: Prepares and maintains environment, health and safety performance data and routine reports and helps track trends, missing information and follow up items for review.

  • EHS PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Maintains environment, health and safety procedures, job aids and documentation and supports updates that improve consistency, application and recordkeeping.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience.

  • Three to five years of experience with safety management systems.

  • Associate´s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
