Logistics Management Specialist

Summary

About the Position: Serves as the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist and Director of Logistics for an Army Transportation (ARTRANS) Brigade. Performs duties as a senior logistician and the principle logistics advisor and consult to the Brigade Commander and Deputy to the Commander.

Duties

• Serve as the Brigade Subject Matter Expert (SME) for policy development, long-range strategic planning, and logistics feasibility.
• Direct equipment readiness, lateral transfers, redistribution of assets, shelf-life management, excess materiel disposal, and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) disposal protocols to maximize subordinate battalion supply postures.
• Interpret complex regulatory guidelines, persuades subordinate staff to adopt standardized controls, and negotiates consensus on policy revisions impacting the command's logistics footprint.
• Coordinate base operations logistics functional software, ensuring the security and integrity of data within key military databases.
• Integrates Logistics Support Activities (LOGSA) products and the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) to maintain precise tactical visibility and operational readiness.
• Manage the Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, and oversees corrective actions to eliminate operational inefficiencies.
• Execute the full scope of supervisory responsibilities for the logistics staff.
