Job Summary and Responsibilities

As the Senior Epic BMDI Integration Engineer you will be a leader within a team of smart, engaged BMDI analysts. You must have a strong sense of ownership for tasks and projects assigned to them and be willing to assist others when called upon and lead efforts when necessary.

  • Participates in on-call rotations and Major incident resolution

  • Provides subject matter expert leadership for serial output and real-time HL7 interfaces; coordinates modifications; identifies issues and their resolutions; and tests to make certain the data exchanges are correctly formed (including software upgrades, patching, but not limited to).

  • Heavy emphasis on Clinical product lines and workflow

  • Leads and coordinates code/peer reviews of multi-facility or application focused development work to insure it aligns to the business and technical requirements

  • Collaborates with application and project team(s) to define design and unit testing scenarios and test scripts in alignment with business and system requirements

  • Leads cross functional application development activities to achieve project objectives

  • Designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains solutions without direction

  • Facilitates project meetings and dashboard status updates

  • Analyzes and translates business requirements into interface requirements. Maintains an expertise in Epic technology, applications and processes related to the support of real-time, HL7. Ensures interface implementation maintains appropriate PHI security compliance

  • Ensures EAI deliverables are completed in a time, on budget, and at the highest quality

  • Researches and recommends appropriate application and/or development best practices, and tools

  • Develops and applies business knowledge in multiple functional areas

  • Performs source code/versioning management function adhering to technical management guidelines

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Field Operations and vendors to support communication and medical device integration at the point of patient care

  • Generate and/or contribute to whitepapers and/or reports pertaining to medical device integration efforts

  • May be called upon to lead in major incidents or failure

  • Remote eligible.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Technology, Medical, or Business discipline or equivalent experience

  • 7-8 years experience

  • Experience and understanding of hospital (Clinical and/or Revenue Cycle Management) or healthcare work flows

  • 5-7 years of experience working in IT Application Systems Analysis, including Epic

  • 5-7 years of experience working on devices in a healthcare setting

  • Epic Bridges certification

  • Experience working with project life cycle and project management methodologies

Preferred

  • Experience providing senior-level support for Epic operations and project go-lives

  • Extensive Knowledge of Capsule

  • Experience working with HL7, HIPAA transactions sets, and EDI engines

  • Project Management Professional

Pay Range

$52.15 - $77.58 /hour
