Accountant

Description

We are looking for an Accountant to support core financial operations for a growing organization in New Richmond, Wisconsin. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for an individual who can manage daily accounting activities, maintain accurate records, and help ensure timely month-end reporting. The role will contribute across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general ledger processes while partnering with internal teams to keep financial data organized and reliable.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and help maintain an efficient accounts payable workflow.

• Monitor incoming payments, apply cash receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances to support accounts receivable activities.

• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate backup documentation to keep the general ledger current and accurate.

• Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis and investigate discrepancies to ensure account balances are properly stated.

• Assist with month-end close tasks, including account analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting support.

• Maintain accounting records and supporting schedules in accordance with internal controls and established procedures.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve transaction issues and clarify accounting-related questions.

• Contribute to ad hoc accounting projects and provide support for process improvements within the finance function.

Requirements • Experience working in an accounting role with hands-on responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation practices.

• Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and investigate variances in a timely manner.

• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and the preparation of supporting financial documentation.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial tracking and reporting.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
