About the role

As a Partner Consulting, M&A Senior Leader, you will make an impact by leading the growth, delivery, and market reputation of Cognizant's M&A consulting offerings across the full deal lifecycle. You will be a valued member of the Transformation Management Consulting team and work collaboratively with client executives, account leaders, consulting practice leaders, delivery teams, strategic partners, and industry analysts.

In this role, you will:

  • Own and grow the M&A consulting sub-practice, including direct consulting revenue responsibility, pipeline generation, offering strategy, market positioning, and executive-level client relationships.

  • Advise C-suite leaders across the full transaction lifecycle, including deal thesis and target screening, due diligence, integration planning, Day 1 readiness, separation and carve-out execution, operating model design, and synergy realization.

  • Lead the mobilization and quality of integration management offices, separation management offices, and complex transformation programs, while overseeing program risks, controls, governance, and client outcomes.

  • Shape and sell consulting-led M&A engagements by directing pursuits, enabling account teams, credentializing opportunities, and developing differentiated solutions across M&A, transformation management, and program management.

  • Build a high-performing global consulting team by aligning demand generation and recruiting, developing capabilities, mentoring leaders and consultants, and advancing thought leadership, alliances, and a community of practice.

  • Consistently demonstrate the Cognizant Way to Lead, which means operating with Personal Leadership, Organizational Leadership, and Business Leadership, including client focus, accountability, strategic direction, inclusion, and financial acumen.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Dallas, Texas. What you must have to be considered

  • 20+ years of consulting or professional services experience delivering complex transformation programs, with deep M&A experience across diligence, integration, separation, carve-outs, and value realization.

  • A proven record of setting and achieving revenue and engagement targets, managing budgets and forecasts, building consulting pipeline, and leading teams that win and deliver business.

  • Executive-level advisory and relationship management experience, with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and align leaders around M&A strategy, governance, operating models, and measurable outcomes.

  • Experience building and leading high-performing consulting teams, developing talent and capabilities, and managing complex global or cross-functional delivery environments.

  • Strong transformation, program management, change management, commercial, and quality-assurance expertise, with the ability to shape offerings and translate market opportunities into client solutions.

These will help you succeed

  • Experience in the insurance industry, with additional exposure to banking, healthcare, media, energy, manufacturing, or travel.

  • CIO advisory experience and a strong understanding of business, operating model, organizational, and technology implications across complex transactions.

  • A visible industry presence, established professional network, and experience publishing thought leadership or engaging analysts, alliances, panels, and industry forums.

  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-alignment skills.

  • Embodiment of the Cognizant Way to Lead and Cognizant's Values: Work as One, Dare to Innovate, Raise the Bar, Do the Right Thing, and Own It.
