Procurement Buyer Oracle ERP / Defense Manufacturing Sterling Heights, MI $33.32-$34.77/Hour U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law We are hiring a Procurement Buyer to support defense manufacturing and military ground vehicle programs, managing direct material purchasing, supplier relationships, purchase orders, and subcontract administration. This role requires experience with Oracle ERP, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), cost and price analysis, supplier negotiations, and procurement compliance to support program schedules, cost objectives, and on-time material delivery. Responsibilities: * Analyze Oracle ERP and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) requirements to identify direct material purchasing needs. * Prepare, issue, and evaluate Requests for Quotes (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Requests for Information (RFIs). * Conduct cost and price analyses, proposal fact-finding, and supplier evaluations to support procurement decisions. * Negotiate supplier proposals, pricing, contract terms, and conditions to achieve program cost and schedule objectives. * Prepare, issue, administer, and monitor purchase orders and subcontracts to ensure supplier compliance and on-time delivery. * Manage subcontract costs, supplier performance, and material delivery schedules to meet program requirements. * Coordinate supplier source selection activities and procurement evaluations as required. * Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers, internal functional departments, and program offices. * Resolve supplier quality, design, payment, and contractual issues to maintain procurement continuity. * Review procurement plans, material requirements, and supplier lead times to ensure timely purchase order placement. * Conduct purchase order kickoff meetings and participate in on-site supplier program reviews. * Ensure procurement and subcontract administration activities comply with applicable purchasing laws, regulations, and contractual requirements. * Maintain procurement status updates, purchasing priorities, and performance metrics to support program execution. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * US Citizenship Required * Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. * Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field of study. * Experience using Oracle ERP and associated business computer systems. * Experience conducting procurement cost and price analyses, including preparation of supporting documentation and write-ups. * Ability to negotiate supplier pricing, proposals, and contract terms and conditions. * Strong understanding of procurement processes, purchasing systems, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP). * Experience managing purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and procurement schedules. * Ability to manage multiple purchasing priorities, meet deadlines, and provide timely procurement status updates. * Knowledge of program management principles, procurement performance metrics, and supplier relationship management. * Ability to resolve procurement issues involving cost, quality, delivery, and supplier performance. * Ability to travel domestically on occasion, with possible international travel.
