Description
Robert Half is seeking a Portfolio Manager Consultant for an exciting fully onsite opportunity with a local bank in Brick, NJ. This role will support the continued growth of the Commercial Banking team by managing and analyzing a portfolio of commercial relationships while partnering closely with Commercial Lenders.
The Portfolio Manager II AVP will be responsible for supporting a Commercial Lender and assigned portfolio, helping maintain credit quality, monitoring risk, coordinating financial reporting, and preparing credit recommendations. Portfolios may include a mix of Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Commercial & Industrial (C& I), Construction, and SBA loans, ranging from approximately $150MM to $300MM+.
Key Responsibilities

Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial customers with oversight from a Commercial Loan Officer

Maintain ongoing business relationships with current customers and serve as a secondary commercial services contact

Support and oversee reporting for portfolio management, including delinquency, problem loans, exceptions, and tickler tracking

Coordinate the collection, tracking, and review of financial statements, tax returns, and loan covenants/conditions

Prepare and coordinate loan modifications, renewals, and extensions
-
Monitor assigned accounts for early warning signs of financial weakness or other risks and collaborate with leadership on action plans

Prepare, update, and maintain credit files in both paper and electronic formats

Underwrite new and complex commercial loan transactions and requests within the assigned portfolio

Develop and present credit recommendations to the appropriate level of credit administration

Serve as a primary or secondary customer contact, as assigned by the Commercial Loan Officer

Support execution and collection of loan documentation

Assist with internal and external audits, loan review, compliance, and regulatory examinations

Maintain working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact commercial services
-
Help support Commercial Lenders in achieving annual operating plan goals

Coordinate effectively with internal departments to ensure efficient information flow

Respond to internal and external inquiries within established timeframes and policy guidelines
Requirements
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field required
-
Formal credit training in CRE/C& I and Personal Cash Flow Analysis preferred
Skills:
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
-
Excellent writing, grammar, math, and communication skills
-
Strong organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow
-
Thorough knowledge of current lending, loan review, and banking regulations, procedures, and operations
-
Strong ability to analyze and interpret business, CRE, and personal financial statements
-
5+ years' experience in a similar position in the banking industry
