The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, Etsy in their search for a contract

Marketing Communications & PR Coordinator to join their team on a contract-basis!

About The Team

Etsy’s Global Consumer Communications team shapes how the brand shows up in culture and in the press around the world. We tell the stories of Etsy’s sellers and their items, uncover shopping trends, and bring major campaigns and partnerships to life. Working closely with both internal partners and external PR agencies, we create storytelling moments that earn attention and keep Etsy part of the cultural conversation.

About The Role

This is a six-month contract role supporting the US Consumer Communications team during a team member’s leave. You’ll help keep day-to-day press work moving across campaigns, trends, seller stories, and events. We’re looking for someone who can jump in quickly, stay organized across several priorities, and bring creative ideas to the work.

  • Draft and send media pitches, follow up with reporters, and help manage incoming press requests.
  • Coordinate with the US PR agency on media opportunities, including, deadlines, coverage updates, and day-to-day deliverables.
  • Manage the logistics for press opportunities, including product shipments, interview schedules, briefing materials, and follow-up.
  • Track and flag emerging trends across culture, shopping, and media, identifying where Etsy has a timely and credible story to tell.
  • Draft and update press materials, talking points, briefing documents, and campaign trackers.
  • Support press events and campaign launches, including media lists, invitations, materials, and on-site needs.
  • Help manage contract requests and reviews for comms projects, coordinating with our Legal team and internal partners to track approvals, and deadlines.
  • Research and conduct outreach to Etsy sellers for various campaigns, media requests and seasonal pitching opportunities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in consumer PR or communications.
  • Understanding of the consumer / lifestyle media landscape, including emerging media types, outlets, creators.
  • Strong writing skills, especially for media pitches and press materials.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several projects at once.
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working with internal and external partners.
  • Scrapiness and the ability to adapt when plans or priorities change.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Relationships with US reporters or editors across lifestyle, shopping, culture, fashion, home, or retail.
  • Experience working with a PR agency or on an integrated marketing campaign.
  • Experience with an ecommerce platform, marketplace, or retail brand.
  • Experience finding stories in consumer or marketplace data.
