Full job description

Our company

At Teradata, we believe that people thrive when empowered with better information. Teradata Autonomous Knowledge Platform activates enterprise intelligence by unifying data, knowledge and business context to achieve tangible outcomes. With Teradata, organizations can provide agents with full context for impact when it matters. Our solution lets businesses connect and scale on premises, in the cloud, or through a hybrid approach. Teradata delivers real business value with AI.

Our Internship Program

Our summer internship program lasts 10-12 weeks, typically beginning in May or June and ending in August or September. You will work in a fast-paced, flexible, and collaborative environment where you can contribute to meaningful projects, build practical skills, and solve new challenges. Teradata values the different experiences and perspectives that strengthen our dynamic global culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with Legal and People team stakeholders to document current workflows, pain points, controls, data inputs, handoffs, and desired outcomes.

  • Research and prototype AI-enabled and automation solutions for approved use cases, such as knowledge discovery, document intake, workflow routing, reporting, employee support, and operational analytics.

  • Build reusable process maps, requirements, test scenarios, prompts, documentation, and adoption materials that support scalable implementation.

  • Evaluate solution outputs for accuracy, usability, privacy, security, accessibility, and responsible AI considerations; document risks and escalate concerns to the appropriate project owner.

  • Support pilots by gathering user feedback, tracking success measures, analyzing results, and recommending improvements before broader deployment.

Present findings, prototypes, and recommendations to cross-functional partners in a clear, concise, and business-oriented format.

What You Will Learn

  • How AI and automation can improve enterprise Legal and People operations while maintaining appropriate human oversight and controls.

  • How to move from process discovery and use-case prioritization through prototyping, testing, adoption, and measurement.

  • How global teams collaborate across business, technology, privacy, compliance, security, and change-management requirements.

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Clear documentation of assigned workflows, requirements, risks, owners, and decision points.

  • Delivery of tested prototypes or automation recommendations for approved use cases.

  • Evidence of measurable value, such as reduced manual effort, faster cycle time, improved user experience, or better reporting quality.

  • High-quality documentation and a practical handoff plan that enables the business owner to sustain or scale the solution.

Who You’ll Work With

You will join Teradata's Chief Administrative Office (CAO), supporting both the Legal and People teams. These functions help Teradata manage risk, enable employees, strengthen operations, and deliver responsible business outcomes. You will work across teams to identify high-value opportunities for AI innovation and automation, translate business needs into practical solutions, and help establish repeatable ways of working.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

  • Academic or project experience in artificial intelligence, data/analytics, information systems, computer science, business process improvement, human resources, legal operations, or a related field.

  • Experience with one or more of the following: generative AI tools, prompt design, workflow automation, low-code/no-code platforms, data visualization, process mapping, or user research

  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous problems into structured requirements and actionable next steps.

  • Curiosity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and comfort working with confidential or sensitive business information under established policies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program and expected to return to the program after completing the internship.

  • Available to participate for the full internship period and work the schedule and location requirements stated in the offer.

  • Authorized to work in the country of employment for the duration of the internship without requiring Teradata to provide employment authorization or immigration sponsorship, unless otherwise approved for the specific role.

  • Able to follow Teradata requirements for confidentiality, data protection, information security, records management, and responsible use of AI.
