Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Network Administrator to support, configure, and maintain secure Cisco-based network infrastructure across both LAN Switching and Wireless environments. In this role, you will be a key technical leader responsible for ensuring our networks are reliable, compliant, and ready to support evolving mission needs.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, install, and support secure Cisco LAN and Wireless network hardware across enterprise environments.

Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation, including hardware inventories, IOS standards, and configuration baselines.

Serve as a team lead for small project groups, guiding technical efforts and supporting shared objectives.

Manage and maintain the physical network layer, ensuring all IDFs are organized, labeled, and professionally maintained.

Participate in major network installations, upgrades, and modernization efforts while creating or updating required documentation.

Support day-to-day operations by handling service requests and incident tickets using enterprise ServiceNow and network monitoring tools.

Provide accurate LAN/WAN cost estimates for projects using standardized ROM templates.

Collaborate directly with vendors and contractors to drive project requirements, validate deliverables, and ensure successful implementation.

Lead planning and assessment phases of network-related projects and assist in the design, implementation, and rollout of new solutions.

What You Bring

Extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies , including LAN switching, wireless infrastructure, IOS standards, and physical network installation.

Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts such as routing, switching, VLANs, wireless design, and network security best practices.

Hands-on experience supporting secure, compliant network environments , ideally within DoD, defense, or similarly regulated industries.

Ability to lead technical efforts , guide small project teams, and collaborate effectively with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional partners.

Proficiency with enterprise tools including ServiceNow and network monitoring/management platforms.

Strong documentation skills , with the ability to maintain configuration baselines, installation standards, and project-related materials.

Experience managing IDF environments , ensuring high levels of organization, cable management, labeling, and physical security.

Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities , with a talent for assessing project phases, providing cost estimates, and contributing to design and implementation.

Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience (highly preferred).

A proactive mindset , comfort operating in fast-paced environments, and a commitment to reliability, precision, and continuous improvement.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelors degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent combination of education & experience

  • Cisco certifications highly preferred (CCNA/CCNP)

  • Security Highly preferred

  • Good understanding of Cisco tools such as Catalyst Center, Identity Service Engine(ISE),software licensing.

  • Experience configuring Cisco switches using CLI (command line interface)

  • Good communication skills are required as candidate will be working directly with end -users, customers and other sub-contractors

  • Good organizational skills required as candidate will be required to work multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • Use of standard Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Visio are required

  • Good understanding of standard IT environments and infrastructure, including Cisco switches and wireless APs including the physical infrastructure cabling

  • Strong troubleshooting skills to help facilitate problem resolution

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Network Industry certifications CCNA/CCNP certification in routing and switching preferredorequivalent experience

  • Good understanding of Cisco IOS/IOS-XE

  • Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services (ISE)

  • Good understanding of ticketing systems preferably ServiceNow

  • Knowledge of UPS's

  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining network documentation

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
