$26.00-$27.84 per hour

Thousand Oaks, CA

Contract

Duration: 12 months contract

Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard daytime/business hours, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Description:

  • The ideal candidate is an early-career scientist with a relevant bachelor’s degree and solid hands-on research experience who is comfortable spending the majority of their time working at the bench.

  • They will bring strong mammalian cell culture, in vitro pharmacology, and plate-based assay experience, including experience working with compounds and generating or evaluating dose-response data.

  • The manager is open to candidates from either academic or industry research environments and places greater emphasis on demonstrated technical ability, hands-on experience, and independence than on a specific industry background.

  • In vivo or small-animal experience would be beneficial but is not required.

  • Bachelors' degree & 2 YOETo perform experiments, organize data and analyze results.

  • With minimal supervision, plans, conducts or monitors experiments, records and organizes data, analyses results, generates robust and reliable data.

  • Ensures contracted studies are conducted in compliance with the respective protocol and applicable guidelines and regulations.

Basic qualifications:

  • Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life sciences disciplines; experience in a Biopharmaceutical working environment.

Preferred quantifications and skills:

  • Hands-on experience with in vivo and in vitro pharmacology skills; capable to independently design, implement and analyze studies with proper controls and generate reproducible high quality data.

  • Technical mastery of general molecular biology and cell-signaling analysis techniques including immunoblotting, immunocytochemistry, RT-qPCR, immunoprecipitation, and ELISA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Follows established experimental design and protocols to generate reproducible and reliable results with limited supervision.

  • Plans, conducts, analyzes and records experiments, and provides interpretation of data.

  • Review literature to identify and effectively transfers experimental methods to the lab and makes modifications as necessary.

  • Develops and implements new protocols to address biological questions.

  • Engages coworkers in scientific discussions and communicates data/interpretation to program teams.

  • Skilled and knowledgeable in the use of standard laboratory equipment and with one or more major laboratory techniques.

  • Effectively trouble-shoots equipment and experimental difficulties.

  • Contributes to internal/external reports, papers, presentations, regulatory documents, invention disclosure submissions and/or patents.

  • Follow best practise in ELN entry, data recording, safety and compliances.
