Job Description

Pay: $20 to $25

The Clean Room Operator sets up, operates, and maintains extrusion and related production equipment in a controlled clean room environment. This role supports medical device manufacturing by performing machine operation, assembly, packaging, and accurate documentation to ensure high-quality products and compliance with industry standards. Training is provided, and the position is well suited for individuals who are mechanically inclined and comfortable working with detailed documentation and data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion machines and related production equipment in a clean room environment according to established procedures and work instructions.

  • Assemble, clean, and disassemble extrusion and associated machinery to support efficient and safe production operations.

  • Perform general production and machine operation tasks, including medical device assembly, packing, and packaging of finished products.

  • Carry out clean room production activities while following cleanliness, contamination control, and safety protocols at all times.

  • Conduct visual inspection of products and components to verify quality, labeling accuracy, and conformance to specifications.

  • Complete accurate data entry and production documentation, including recording process parameters, lot information, and work order details.

  • Apply and verify labels on medical devices and packaging to ensure correct identification and traceability.

  • Support general labor tasks such as staging materials, organizing work areas, and assisting with equipment setups and changeovers.

  • Follow written procedures, documentation requirements, and quality guidelines to maintain compliance with medical device standards.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain smooth workflow, communicate issues, and support continuous improvement in the production process.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn operation, cleaning, and disassembly of extrusion and related production machinery.

  • Experience or strong interest in production, general labor, or machine operation roles.

  • Comfort working in a clean room environment and following strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures.

  • Ability to perform medical device assembly, packing, and packaging tasks with attention to detail.

  • Basic data entry skills and ability to complete accurate production documentation and records.

  • Capability to perform visual inspection of products to identify defects, labeling issues, or nonconformities.

  • Willingness to follow detailed written procedures and documentation requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small components and precise specifications.

  • Reliability and consistency in following safety, quality, and clean room protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a machine operator, extrusion operator, or production operator in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working in a clean room or controlled environment, particularly in medical device manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with labeling, inspection, and documentation practices in regulated production settings.

  • Exposure to medical device assembly processes and quality standards.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Montebello, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
