Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: Commensurate with experience
Provides strategic and operational leadership to support clinical services across the health system’s affiliate network and wholly owned Critical Access Hospitals. Responsible for advancing clinical alignment, strengthening care delivery, and promoting the consistent implementation of system standards, quality initiatives, and best practices across regional sites.
Works closely with regional hospital leadership, clinical teams, and system service lines, and fosters collaboration and integration to enhance patient care, improve clinical outcomes, and support sustainable rural healthcare delivery. Serves as a key resource for clinical operations, regulatory readiness, workforce development, and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment between regional facilities and system-wide strategic priorities.
Through effective partnership and coordination, helps strengthen the rural healthcare network by leveraging system resources, facilitating clinical integration, and supporting operational excellence across affiliated, managed, and wholly owned hospitals. Provides interim clinical leadership support, including Director of Nursing responsibilities, as needed to ensure continuity of clinical operations and leadership within the health system
Essential Job Functions
Strategic Direction and Execution

Drives the development and execution of long-term strategies that strengthen the rural healthcare delivery network and align clinical services across affiliate, managed, and wholly owned regional facilities with the health system's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.

Establishes, implements, and advances strategic clinical initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, clinical integration, care coordination, and sustainable rural healthcare delivery.

Anticipates future healthcare needs, regulatory changes, workforce challenges, and industry trends, developing actionable plans that support organizational goals and regional market needs.

Leads impactful change initiatives and provides strategic guidance on complex clinical and operational issues requiring independent judgment, collaboration, and evaluation of multiple factors.
Clinical Integration and Operational Leadership
-
Responsible for the delivery, coordination, and oversight of clinical services provided to affiliate locations under Management Services Agreements (MSAs), ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations and alignment with health system standards, priorities, and performance expectations.

Responsible for facilitating system-wide quality and clinical integration initiatives utilizing the integrated medical record across the affiliate network, wholly owned regional facilities, and clinically integrated Oracle site partners.

Responsible for facilitating the strategic alignment of clinical services, nursing practice, quality programs, and patient care standards across wholly owned regional facilities.

Leads health system regional clinical initiatives through a collaborative approach by providing operational consultation, guidance, and subject matter expertise to promote the adoption of best practices in clinical services, nursing practice, quality improvement, patient safety, and patient care delivery across the continuum of care.

Coordinates with regional healthcare providers, physicians, service line leaders, and health system leadership to advance organizational goals and identify opportunities for clinical collaboration, standardization, and improvement.

Provides operational consultation and support to regional clinical leaders regarding staffing models, care delivery processes, clinical resource utilization, and operational effectiveness.

Establishes a vision of clinical excellence through a patient-centered, service-oriented approach that supports quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and community healthcare needs.
Quality, Regulatory, and Clinical Excellence
-
Monitors compliance with clinical, quality, and regulatory standards and collaborates with regional leadership to address identified gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Monitors and supports compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards including CMS, DNV, OSHA, state regulations, and other governing bodies.
-
Supports and facilitates quality improvement initiatives utilizing performance data, patient safety indicators, patient experience metrics, workforce engagement results, and regulatory findings to improve care delivery and outcomes.

Responsible for practicing within the scope of licensure as a Registered Nurse and for assessing and making recommendations regarding the quality, safety, and effectiveness of patient care services.
Stakeholder Engagement and Network Development

Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with affiliate, managed, and wholly owned regional facilities, serving as a liaison and communication channel between regional sites and health system leadership.

Collaborates with the Regional Operations Center, regional facility clinical leadership, Regional Chief Medical Officer, Care Management Team, and other regional leaders to enhance care coordination, facilitate timely patient transfers and transitions of care, and support the delivery of appropriate care within patients’ local communities whenever clinically appropriate.

Attends affiliate, managed, and wholly owned hospital board meetings and leadership forums as assigned to support clinical alignment, quality initiatives, and strategic priorities.

Assists with the evaluation, development, and implementation of new affiliate relationships, partnerships, and clinical integration opportunities within the health system's service area.

Builds collaborative relationships with boards, providers, physicians, staff, patients, and community partners to strengthen the regional healthcare network and advance strategic objectives.

Clearly communicates organizational vision, priorities, and expectations while fostering engagement, understanding, and commitment among stakeholders.
Financial Stewardship and Resource Management

Participates in strategic planning, budget development, and resource planning activities related to regional clinical services and network priorities.

Supports responsible stewardship of organizational resources through effective planning, allocation, and utilization of clinical resources while balancing mission, quality, and financial sustainability.

Assists regional facilities in identifying opportunities to improve operational performance, resource utilization, and clinical service effectiveness.
Collaborative Leadership and Team Development

Provides direct supervision of clinical coordinators and other assigned regional clinical support personnel.

Works collaboratively with Regional Operations Leadership, wholly owned Critical Access Hospital Directors of Nursing, Branch Clinic Nursing Leadership, and other system nursing leaders to ensure nursing practice meets established standards of care, competency requirements, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.

Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, patient-centered care, and shared decision-making across regional facilities.

Leads by example while fostering trust, transparency, engagement, and resilience throughout the organization and regional network.

Recruits, develops, mentors, and empowers clinical leaders and team members to support organizational goals, workforce development, employee engagement, and succession planning.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Four (4) year / Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
-
Graduate Degree in Nursing, or related field - preferred
Experience
- Five (5) years of senior management experience with experience in hospital settings.
Certifications and Licenses

Current license as a Registered Nurse in appropriate state - At hire

Valid Driver License - At hire/Ability to be insured to operate organization vehicles.
