Hard Surface Procurement Coordinator - Global Sourcing

Position Overview

Global Sourcing is strategic and fast at providing sourcing solutions that create a competitive advantage. We do this by focusing on speed to market and facilitating team-based decision-making. The role of the Hard Surfaces Procurement Coordinator is critical to executing Shaw’s strategic procurement model. The role is focused around supporting the needs of the procure-to-pay process, primarily involving the daily transactional relationship with suppliers. The HS Procurement Coordinator will report directly to the Global Procurement Manager. The HS Procurement Coordinator will support and maintain the process from purchase order to supplier payment.

Organization & Prioritization:

  • Ability to manage multiple purchase orders, supplier requests, and competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for ensuring that purchase orders are created and sent to suppliers, and promise dates are updated in a timely manner

  • Utilize reasoning skills to problem solve and make recommendations regarding supplier performance

  • Collaborate with key business partners including Production Planning, Accounts Payable, Global Sourcing, Customer Service, Financial Services and others

  • Provide input into supplier KPI’s

  • Respond to internal and external customer requests and issues proactively and with a high degree of customer service

  • Manage SKU maintenance, item attributes, adds, cost changes, etc.

  • Manage supplier maintenance (adds and changes)

  • Manage the process to resolve match exceptions and claims by working with other support groups and the receiving plants according to procurement policies and procedures, and escalate critical issues as needed

  • Enter and maintain cost changes as authorized

  • Prepare and maintain reports as requested

  • Participate on special teams as needed

  • Manage the direct ship process as needed

  • Process PeopleSoft eProcurement requisitions as needed

  • Cross train to provide back-up as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Ability to learn new technologies, including Qlikview and Tableau required

  • Ability to build relationships - Develops strong working relationships with suppliers and business partners to support collaboration and achieve business objectives.

  • Accountability & Ownership - Takes responsibility for outcomes, follows through on commitments, and ensures issues are resolved from start to finish.

  • Problem Solving Skills - Proactively identifies supply chain, delivery, and procurement issues and drives timely resolution.

  • Ability to effectively communicates with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and provide updates.

  • Some travel is required

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience managing purchase orders and procurement processes within a fast-paced business environment.

  • Proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Excel and Google sheets

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, SAP, JD Edwards, or equivalent) and maintaining accurate purchasing and supplier data.

  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel experience and the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support business decisions
