Barnard's is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our power delivery team, which pursues high-voltage transmission and substation projects throughout North America. Our Business Development Managers build and maintain relationships throughout the industry and are at the forefront of our search for challenging projects. This position is based in Bozeman, Montana, but will require travel for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
10+ years of experience in business development, project management, operations, estimating, or a related role within the power delivery industry.
Strong understanding of transmission line and substation construction, utility infrastructure, and energy market dynamics.
Established relationships with investor-owned utilities, public utilities, cooperatives, engineering firms, EPC contractors, developers, and other industry stakeholders.
Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities and convert relationships into project pursuits.
Strong knowledge of utility procurement processes, contracting methods, and project delivery models.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and market awareness.
Exceptional networking, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Experience supporting prequalification and proposal development efforts.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Willingness to travel extensively throughout North America.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic business development initiatives focused on power delivery opportunities across North America.
Build, strengthen, and maintain relationships with utility clients, developers, engineering firms, EPC partners, and key industry decision-makers.
Identify, track, and qualify upcoming transmission line, substation, renewable energy interconnection, and grid modernization projects.
Monitor market conditions, capital improvement plans, regulatory developments, and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities.
Collaborate with estimating, operations, and executive leadership teams to develop pursuit strategies for targeted projects.
Support and coordinate prequalification submissions, proposals, presentations, and interview preparations.
Represent Barnard at utility conferences, industry association meetings, customer events, and trade shows.
Maintain opportunity pipelines, market intelligence, and client engagement activities through CRM and reporting tools.
