Our client, an industry-leading organization is seeking a Mid-Level AI Engineer to join their team. As a Mid-Level AI Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering organization supporting AI product and platform teams. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML or Generative AI applications, and the drive to deliver production-ready features with quality, reliability, and responsible AI practices.
Job Title: Mid-Level AI Engineer
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Pay Range: $50-$54/hr
What's the Job?

Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled applications and services that support real business outcomes.

Build and integrate Generative AI solutions using large language models (LLMs), including prompt and tool orchestration.

Develop AI agents, workflows, prompts, tools, and orchestration frameworks that can operate reliably in production.

Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, and knowledge retrieval solutions to improve answer quality and relevance.

Evaluate, benchmark, and optimize AI model performance, quality, cost, and latency while adding automated testing, monitoring, and observability.
What's Needed?
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
-
3–6 years of software development experience, with 2+ years building AI/ML or Generative AI applications.

Strong programming skills in one or more of: Python, Java, C#, TypeScript/JavaScript.

Experience developing REST APIs and distributed services, including cloud experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Strong software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing, CI/CD, security, and observability.
