Teaching Assistant

Job Title: Teaching AssistantSchedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 3:00PM Job Summary:We are seeking a caring and dependable Teaching Assistant to support students with special needs in a classroom setting. The Teaching Assistant works collaboratively with the Special Education Teacher and/or General Education Teacher to implement instructional activities, support student learning, and maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.Responsibilities: * Assist the Classroom Teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities * Support students academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development * Implement accommodations and strategies outlined in students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when needed * Provide supervision during classroom activities, transitions, meals, and outdoor play * Support positive behavior and social skills using approved behavior management strategies * Assist with data collection, documentation, and classroom organization * Help maintain a clean, safe, and structured learning environment * Communicate observations and concerns to the classroom teacher and supervisory staff * Follow all program policies, confidentiality requirements, and licensing regulations * Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required * NYS Teaching Assistant Certification * Experience working with children with special needs preferred * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team * Ability to support classroom instruction and behavior management * Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills * * Must meet all state and program background clearance requirements
