Summary
We need your expertise! Our mission here in the Patent Product Delivery Branch is to promote the use of new technology, innovative solutions, and experience design practices across business product delivery teams. In the Patent Product Delivery Branch, you can work with business product delivery teams to deliver business value to customers through software, from initial design to deployment and ongoing operations.
Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person. Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion. The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year. This position is for you if... GS-12 You're exctied to perform and coordinate technical product-team activities throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle, including requirements analysis, application and system testing, troubleshooting, implementation, technical documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary stakeholders. You're ready to use your skills to apply cloud, systems analysis, software development, and your technical expertise to develop and implement solutions; identify and resolve technical issues; and help ensure assigned products and information systems are reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational requirements and standards. You enjoy performing cybersecurity compliance and system assessment and authorization activities and providing technical guidance to support the secure development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of products and information systems. You are eager to participate in special projects and technical initiatives by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, supporting project planning and execution, resolving technical or security issues, and supporting acquisition, contract, or vendor-management activities. GS-13 You strive to lead complex technical product and system initiatives throughout the DevSecOps lifecycle, establish technical approaches, evaluate requirements and alternatives, coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders, and resolve significant technical or production issues affecting product delivery. You're eager to serve as a senior technical advisor for cloud and information-system solutions by evaluating architecture, technologies, system performance, security, scalability, and operational requirements and recommending technical solutions or improvements for complex or high-impact initiatives. You're passionate about providing authoritative technical guidance for cybersecurity compliance and system assessment and authorization activities, evaluates technical and security risks, and recommends corrective actions to ensure products and information systems are securely developed, deployed, monitored, and maintained. You're ready to utilize your leadership skills by heading special projects or major technical initiatives, coordinates work across technical teams and stakeholders, provides technical direction, evaluates project risks and priorities, and represents the organization on technical matters as assigned. Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. OPM Qualifications Standards are available at Competency-Based Qualification Standard for the Information Technology Management Series, 2210. Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, you must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. GS-12: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS- 11. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience analyzing business or technical requirements and applying established systems analysis, software development, cloud, or cybersecurity methods to develop, implement, test, troubleshoot, or maintain information systems or applications within a DevSecOps environment. AND Experience supporting cloud-based system operations by identifying and resolving technical issues, monitoring system performance or resource utilization, and assisting with security compliance, assessment, authorization, or remediation activities. GS-13: For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS- 12. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience leading DevSecOps teams, and providing senior-level technical guidance for the analysis, design, development, implementation, or modernization of information systems or applications within DevSecOps and cloud environments, including recommending technical approaches for complex system or production issues. AND Experience evaluating technical, cloud, or cybersecurity risks and recommending solutions or improvements involving system reliability, scalability, security, performance, or compliance across products, systems, or agile technical teams. Basic Requirement Competencies: The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail Customer Service Decision Making Information Management Interpersonal Skills Oral Communication Problem Solving Teamwork Technical Competence Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
