Description
The Mortgage Lending Representative provides administrative and operational support to multiple Mortgage Lending Consultants throughout the residential mortgage loan process. This role is instrumental in ensuring efficient workflow execution and an exceptional member experience by managing documentation, coordinating communications, and supporting the timely progression of mortgage files. The Mortgage Lending Representative serves as a key liaison between members, lending employees, and internal and external partners to ensure accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance throughout the loan lifecycle.

What You'll Do:

Serve as an additional point of contact for members and Realtors, responding to mortgage-related inquiries and providing support throughout the loan process.

Update and maintain accurate member information within mortgage applications, including reassessment of pre-approval status as needed.

Manage Mortgage Relationship Management (MRM) cases for internal leads and referrals, ensuring timely follow-up and clear communication with both members and internal stakeholders.

Prepare mortgage pre-approval and pre-qualification letters in accordance with established guidelines.

Maintain regular communication with members to obtain required documentation and additional information necessary to support loan files.

Follow up on preliminary and ongoing documentation, including Initial Disclosure Requests, Re-Disclosure Requests, employment verifications, financial documentation, and other required materials.

Provide service support by phone or in person, answering member questions related to loan costs, payments, mortgage programs, daily rates, points, and appointment scheduling.

Clearly communicate loan figures, terms, and conditions at closing to buyers, sellers, real estate agents, attorneys, title companies, and other third-party providers, as appropriate.

Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, including but not limited to attorneys, Realtors, insurance agents, and title companies, to obtain necessary information and facilitate timely loan progression.

Proactively build and maintain positive professional relationships with Realtors, attorneys, and community partners through networking activities and community involvement.

Proactively evaluate and refine current processes to uncover opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring our teams and members consistently receive exceptional support and service.

Utilize available technology and systems to enhance the member experience and improve operational efficiency.

Identify member and prospective member needs and educate them on appropriate credit union products and services, supporting cross-sell opportunities when appropriate.

Coordinate and support regular Realtor office visits and assist in the promotion and maintenance of Realtor relationships.

Perform other duties as assigned to support mortgage lending operations and organizational goals.
You’ll Need:
-
Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
-
1+ years Mortgage industry experience, preferred.
-
Current NMLS (National Mortgage Licensing System) registration or ability to obtain it.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to represent the credit union in a positive way when dealing with membership and other staff.

Ability to demonstrate good decision-making techniques.
