Verdantas is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our Vegetation Maintenance team. This field-based position supports transportation and environmental maintenance activities throughout the Tampa Bay region. Work is performed outdoors in a variety of environments, including transportation corridors, stormwater facilities, mitigation sites, ponds, wetlands, and other managed areas.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in completing physically demanding work, and can work safely and effectively as part of a field crew.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform vegetation management and maintenance activities at managed project sites

  • Operate backpack sprayers and other field equipment as assigned

  • Assist with herbicide application, vegetation removal, mowing, trimming, and general site maintenance

  • Conduct work in wetlands, stormwater ponds, mitigation areas, roadside rights-of-way, and other outdoor environments

  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition

  • Follow project specifications, safety requirements, and company procedures

  • Complete basic field documentation and daily work records

  • Travel to project locations throughout the Tampa Bay region as required

What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or technical training preferred)

  • 0–2 years of relevant field, construction, environmental, or hands‑on experience

  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive attitude

  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida heat, humidity, rain, and variable weather conditions

  • Ability to walk long distances across uneven terrain, wetlands, and vegetated areas

  • Ability to safely lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to wear and operate a backpack sprayer for extended periods

  • Reliable transportation to and from the Tampa office

  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Salary Range:

Starting at $25.00
