Overview
Kimley-Horn is looking for a Mechanical Commissioning Field Specialist to join our MEP team in the Tampa, Florida (FL) office! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
-
Provide commissioning related services for MEP engineering projects during construction phases.
-
Perform quality checks and inspections on installed systems.
-
Test, calibrate, and troubleshoot hardware, sensors, and control panels.
-
Track project progress, complete checklists, and log deficiencies or punch lists.
-
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project managers during startup.
-
Write field reports and verify compliance with project specifications
Qualifications
-
Relevant experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical construction
-
General Knowledge of in the following disciplines HVAC, Plumbing/piping, BMS controls & lighting systems
-
Experience in computer operation and the ability to learn engineering calculation programs and computer-aided drafting/BIM software for the purpose of accessing and interpreting design requirements, is a plus.

Documented commissioning training from a nationally recognized professional body, is a plus..

High School Diploma or equivalent

Construction Management knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication

Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients

Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic

Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines

Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment

Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
