Job Title: Process Technician
Job Description
The Process Technician sets up, changes over, and optimizes injection molding equipment to support the production schedule while ensuring consistent part quality and safe operation. This role focuses on mold installation, process parameter setup, and collaboration with quality and engineering teams to maintain efficient, reliable manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities

Set up and change over machinery and equipment according to the priorities of the production schedule.

Install and remove molds in injection presses safely and efficiently.
-
Set process parameters and establish process limit alarms to ensure stable and repeatable production.
-
Configure equipment safety features, including low-pressure mold protection.
-
Connect and verify water, hydraulic, and air lines for each setup.
-
Connect and check mold protection switches to prevent equipment and tooling damage.
-
Install and remove peripheral equipment such as chutes, conveyors, and related accessories.
-
Stage and verify that required raw materials are available at the workstation before and during production.
-
Complete mold travelers and related documentation accurately and on time.

Ensure that actual machine settings match the approved process parameter sheet.

Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Tool Room teams to ensure the machine consistently produces quality parts.

Start presses and bring products up to acceptable quality levels at start-up, documenting any changes on a process notice sheet.

Provide assistance to machine operators as needed to support smooth production.

Collaborate with tool engineering and other departments in the development and launch of new products.

Apply technical understanding of mold setup and manufacturing operations to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.

Use basic knowledge of materials and the injection molding process to make appropriate adjustments and recommendations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all assigned areas.
Essential Skills

Hands-on experience with injection molding machines and plastic mold injection processes.

Proficiency in setting up and operating production machinery and equipment.

Ability to perform mold installations and removals on injection presses.
-
Skill in setting and adjusting process parameters and process limit alarms.
-
Ability to configure equipment safety features, including low-pressure mold protection.
-
Competence in connecting and verifying water, hydraulic, and air lines.
-
Ability to install and remove peripheral equipment such as chutes and conveyors.

Technical understanding of mold setup and manufacturing operations.

Capability to start a press and bring product to acceptable quality at start-up.

Basic knowledge of materials used in injection molding and their processing characteristics.

Ability to complete required production and process documentation accurately.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
