Electrical Technician
Job Description
The Electrical Construction Technician installs and runs 1" EMT conduit, performs underground electrical work, and supports a large semiconductor construction project. This role focuses on conduit installation, wire pulling, and reading blueprints to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient electrical construction in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities

Install and run 1" EMT conduit for electrical systems, including both aboveground and underground applications.

Perform underground electrical construction work in accordance with safety standards and site requirements.

Read and interpret construction blueprints and drawings to plan and execute conduit routing and electrical installations.

Measure, bend, and fabricate conduit using appropriate tools to meet project specifications and code requirements.

Pull wire through installed conduit, ensuring correct routing, labeling, and organization of electrical conductors.

Assist with the installation of electrical components and systems as part of a large semiconductor construction project.

Follow all site safety procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective gear on the construction site.

Collaborate with other electricians, apprentices, and technicians to complete assigned tasks on schedule.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, materials, and equipment.

Adhere to local and state electrical codes and regulations, using the appropriate license or apprentice status for all work performed.

Work a structured schedule of extended shifts (5/12s or 6/10s, Monday through Saturday) to meet project timelines.
Essential Skills

Minimum of 4 years of electrical construction experience.

Proficiency in running and installing 1" EMT conduit, including underground applications.

Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and electrical drawings.

Skilled in conduit bending and fabrication using standard electrical tools.

Experience pulling wire through conduit and preparing circuits for installation.

Current TDLR Journeyman (JW) Card for licensed journeyman-level technicians.

For non-licensed technicians, a current Journeyman Card from another state and a current TDLR Apprentice Card.

For AP-3 to AP-4 level technicians, a current TDLR Apprentice Card.

Capability to work extended hours (5/12s or 6/10s) Monday through Saturday on an active construction site.

Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and construction site safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

JM-level experience performing electrical construction work on large industrial or commercial projects.

Background in construction environments, particularly on complex, high-tech facilities.

Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse field team and follow direction from site leadership.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship in all electrical installations.

Physical ability to perform demanding construction tasks, including lifting, bending, working in trenches, and standing for extended periods.

Reliability and punctuality in adhering to the project schedule and shift requirements.

Willingness to progress in electrical trade classifications (from AP-3 and above) and maintain required state credentials.

Work Environment
This role is based on an active construction site at a semiconductor facility in Bastrop, TX (858 FM1209). You work primarily outdoors and in partially finished structures, including underground areas, exposed to typical construction conditions such as noise, dust, and varying weather. The schedule consists of extended shifts (5/12s or 6/10s) from Monday through Saturday, requiring stamina and consistency. You use standard electrical construction tools and equipment for conduit bending, wire pulling, and installation tasks, and you follow all site safety rules and wear appropriate construction attire and personal protective equipment suitable for an industrial jobsite.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Robinson, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
