Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring an Integration Analyst/Engineer to support the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT). They will be a part of the implementation, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of an enterprise-class financial and acquisition management system, known as the VA Integrated PPBE and Procurement System (VIPPS) solution. We are looking for an Integration Analyst / Engineer who can work closely with our Data Integration Lead, API/Integration Developers, and functional and technical SMEs to support the design and implementation of system integrations and data migration activities. This resource will also support the migration of data from the legacy application into the new solution, including data profiling, mapping, cleansing/transformation, validation, reconciliation, and migration testing. This is intended to be a hybrid analysis/technical role, rather than solely an API developer or traditional Business Analyst. This role is a fully remote position within the United States with core hours of operation from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM ET.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of the VA Integrated PPBE and Procurement System (VIPPS) solution.

  • Collaborate with the Data Integration Lead, API/Integration Developers, and technical/functional SMEs to design and build system integrations that meet enterprise requirements.

  • Perform data migration activities including data profiling, mapping, cleansing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and migration testing for legacy‑to‑modern system transitions.

  • Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, business rules, and integration requirements while developing accurate source‑to‑target data mappings.

  • Assist in API and interface development using REST, JSON/XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, SQL, and related integration technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and data standards.

  • Support integration and API testing efforts by designing and executing test cases, validating data exchanges, and contributing to reusable automated testing frameworks as appropriate.

  • Troubleshoot integration and data‑exchange issues, resolving data‑quality concerns, interface errors, and exception‑handling problems alongside technical engineering teams.

  • Document integration processes, mappings, test results, and technical specifications to support ongoing sustainment and knowledge transfer across teams.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of integration processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance system reliability, data quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure integration activities align with security, compliance, and Suitability/Public Trust clearance requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience supporting systems integration, data analysis, data migration/conversion, API/interface development or analysis, or related technical implementation activities.

  • Strong data and systems analysis skills.

  • Be able to analyze source and target systems, understand existing data structures and business rules, develop source-to-target mappings, and help determine how data should be transformed, validated, reconciled, and exchanged between systems.

  • Background with APIs; should understand REST APIs and enterprise integration concepts;

  • Be comfortable working with SQL, data mapping, JSON/XML, OpenAPI/Swagger, interface specifications, error/exception handling, and data-quality controls;

  • Have sufficient technical capability to assist with integration engineering and troubleshooting as needed.

  • Be able to support API and integration testing, including helping develop reusable automated tests or an API test automation framework where appropriate.

  • Experience integrating Federal or VA enterprise systems and/or supporting legacy-to-modern platform migrations.

  • Experience with integration of SaaS and outside system.

  • Knowledge of iFAMS and ECMS

Clearance Required: Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • OneStream experience is beneficial but is not required.

  • Experience supporting complex enterprise systems is preferred.
