Full job description

About AIUC AIUC builds standards and insurance for frontier AI. Our mission is to Underwrite superintelligence. We exist because risk, not capability, is becoming the binding constraint on AI being useful. History offers lessons for how to build confidence in new technology; electricity burned down houses until insurers funded Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to certify products against their standards. Today, the UL mark is a trustmark on every light bulb in America. We’re building that for AI.

AIUC-1, our standard for agent security, serves frontier builders like Cursor, Lovable, ElevenLabs, and Harvey. We've raised $55m from Ribbit, First Harmonic and Nat Friedman to audit frontier AI. Our team comes from METR, Anthropic, McKinsey, and OpenAI. Come join us.

The role AIUC-1 is the standard for AI agents. Enterprises use it to decide which agents they can trust. Over the last year, we certified agents for some of the most demanding companies in AI, alongside their teams and their auditors. Now we are turning that work into a product every company building agents can use. As the founding product lead, you will work directly with our cofounders to translate their strategic vision into product priorities, and close the gap between that vision and what gets shipped. You hold the product agenda, test hypotheses, surface the cruxes, and drive us to decisions and execution. This is the first product hire at AIUC and the company’s top hiring priority as we gear up for GA. As you learn how we think, you take on more of the product decisions, with room to build the product function as we scale. In this role, you will:

  • Run the weekly product cadence across engineering, delivery and GTM

  • Break the product into pieces, chunk the work, and write specs with a clear definition of done

  • Dig into product data to test hypotheses and bring the founders a clear answer.

  • Set deadlines, unblock engineers, and make sure what we said would ship does ship.

  • Take our certification product to general availability, then into new agent types and products.

What we're looking for:

  • You think in systems. You can hold a complex product in your head and break it into clear, sequenced work.

  • You are a relentless operator. Deadlines energise you and loose ends bother you.

  • You ground your views in analysis, not storytelling.

  • You have done product management at a B2B company that scaled, ideally from the startup stage.

  • You are senior, but you want to learn how we think before telling us how it should work.

Nice to haves:

  • You started in consulting or strategy before moving into product.

  • You have worked on security, compliance or trust products.

  • You have worked on AI products or evals.

Our Values We are in the business of building trust. We take our values seriously and treat them as commitments to each other, held to the same bar as the ones we make to customers.

  • Strong back: high standards, keep our promises, work hard.

  • Fast feet: experiment, cut scope, take delight in pace.

  • Eyes up: wrestle with the mission, and let where AI is heading shape our strategy, our teams and our day-to-day work.

  • Open heart: say the scary thing, create connection, make room for emotions.

Underwriting superintelligence is our life's work. If you want it to be yours, apply now.

Compensation & Perks

  • Competitive annual salary

  • Equity (significant part of total compensation)

  • Health, dental and vision insurance for you and your dependents

  • Visa sponsorship and relocation stipend to bring you to SF, if needed

  • Daily lunch, dinner & snacks
