Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a PreOp Registered Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively for your patients. As a valued addition to our company, you will exhibit the values of HCA as a whole, as well as your individual center, providing quality care like family.

What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case

• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure

• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests

• Review your patients’ charts for completeness prior to surgery

• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed

• Monitor your patients until transferred to the OR

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

• 1+ years of nursing experience in PreOp/PACU preferred

• Active RN license as required by state of employment

• **BCLS Certification upon employment. *online certification not acceptable

• ACLS required within 30-days of hire

• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire

Our center opened in the fall of 2019. We are a part of Surgery Ventures powered by HCA Healthcare and the first center in Kentucky. We are located off of I-65. The center is in near the Corvette plant and Museum and Western Kentucky University. Our AAAHC certified center performs over 275 cases a month. We offer ENT, endoscopy, gastroenterology, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastics and urology services.
