Building Materials Operations

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and versatile Building Materials Associate to join our team. This hybrid role is perfect for a motivated individual who enjoys a mix of customer interaction, hands-on warehouse work, and local delivery driving. You will be the face of our company---helping customers in the showroom, preparing orders in the warehouse, and delivering materials directly to job sites. Key Responsibilities Sales & Customer Service - Greet showroom customers and assist contractors or DIYers with product selection. - Process sales transactions, quotes, and returns using our point-of-sale (POS) system. - Answer phone inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, and delivery schedules. Warehouse Operations - Receive, unload, and check incoming inventory for damage or discrepancies. - Pull, pack, and stage customer orders accurately for pickup or delivery. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and lumber yard environment. - Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move heavy building materials. Delivery Driving - Load the delivery truck securely to prevent shifting or damage during transit. - Deliver building materials safely and punctively to local job sites and customers. - Obtain customer signatures upon delivery and provide excellent service on-site. - Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs. Qualifications & Requirements - Experience: Minimum of 1--2 years in retail sales, warehouse logistics, or delivery driving (building materials experience is a major plus). - Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. - Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50--75 lbs regularly. - Environment: Ability to work on your feet and outdoors in various weather conditions. - Skills: Strong communication, basic math for material measurements, and a team-player attitude.
