Full job description

At Snowflake, we are powering the era of the agentic enterprise. To usher in this new era, we seek AI-native thinkers across every function who are energized by the opportunity to reinvent how they work. You don’t just use tools; you possess an innate curiosity, treating AI as a high-trust collaborator that is core to how you solve problems and accelerate your impact. We look for low-ego individuals who thrive in dynamic and fast-moving environments and move with an experimental mindset — who rapidly test emerging capabilities to discover simpler, more powerful ways to deliver results. At Snowflake, your role isn't just to execute a function, but to help redefine the future of how work gets done.

Our customers are very happy with our technology and are quickly expanding their use cases, only limited by their own imaginations. The Customer Experience Engineering Team aims to enable customers to push these limits, and when customers run into roadblocks or issues, enable them and our internal technical resources to resolve those issues and get back to seeing success with Snowflake.

Snowflake's Customer Experience Engineering Team is expanding! We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team at the start of their career, someone who likes building intelligent data applications that give insight into diagnostic data and technical content that is relevant to issues customers may be facing. This is an entry-level position: you will work closely with a mentor, tech lead, and your manager to get guidance and feedback as you grow into a well-rounded engineer. Our Customer Experience Software Engineers enjoy developing features into the Snowflake product that aim to greatly reduce friction points that block customers and regularly require help from Snowflake technical experts. They are excited by the challenges presented by extracting intelligence from a wide variety of data sources, including structured and unstructured data.

You will:

  • Implement well-scoped tasks and projects across our stack, including Java and Python services hosted in Kubernetes and Snowpark Container Services, with input from other team members.

  • Learn to engage in all aspects of the software lifecycle, from design through supporting the deployment.

  • Show accountability for the quality, completeness, and customer experience of the work you own.

  • Seek feedback and incorporate input from peers, stakeholders, and design reviews.

  • Learn the design of the components you work in, including requirements, use cases, and architecture, and begin developing proficiency in a specific feature area.

  • Participate in all aspects of engineering: development, testing, bug fixing and triage, and support rotation.

  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team, including product management and design.

  • Know when to ask for help in order to make progress and avoid unnecessary rework.

Our ideal Software Engineer will have:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in CS, MIS, or equivalent discipline

  • Internship or professional experience is a plus

  • Working knowledge of modern application design, good API design patterns, and the basics of performance and scale

  • Proficiency in at least one of the following (bonus for more than one): Python, Java, Scala, GoLang

  • Familiarity with software engineering best practices: unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation

  • Ability to debug your own code, and an interest in building strong troubleshooting skills in a cloud environment

  • Ability to write high-quality, readable code that is readily maintainable by others, with consideration for performance, operability, and maintainability

  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written, and an interest in working with a diverse set of peers and external developers

  • A desire to contribute to the positive morale of the team, help new hires and interns onboard, and work on what the team needs

  • Genuine enjoyment of the art of building great software, and a love of learning new things

Snowflake is growing fast, and we’re scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake. How do you want to make your impact?
