Overview
Provides on-site management, support, and logistical guidance to daily operations of the Dartmouth Cancer Center (DCC) Healing Harvest program in Lebanon and other affiliate sites to ensure oncology patients and their families experiencing food insecurity have timely and easy access to the program. Collaborates on such activities with clinical and administrative directors within DCC and across D-H to integrate the program into patient care.
Responsibilities

Provides on-site management, support, and logistical assistance to daily operations of the Dartmouth Cancer Center Healing Harvest program in Lebanon and other affiliate sites.

Hires and supervises Program Assistants at the DCC Healing Harvest program in Lebanon and other affiliate sites.

Creates and manages the budget for the program each fiscal year, working in collaboration with DCC Administration and the Director of Finance.

Initiates projects that may advance the goals of a positive patient experience.

Collaborates with leadership on projects that measure and evaluate the program impact on the patient experience.

Collaborates with Volunteer Services in Lebanon and other affiliate locations to recruit and onboard volunteers.

Initiates, plans and oversees presentations and presentational materials for clinical staff and for cancer care consumers, informing and educating them on the DCC Healing Harvest program.

Collaborates with providers and DH Staff on IRB approved studies and manages funding.

Provides supervision and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students completing their field internships with the program.

Facilitates regular meetings to ensure smooth operations of the DCC Healing Harvest program, including monthly stakeholder meetings, regular staff meetings, and other meetings as needed or assigned.

Trains, supervises, and manages volunteer schedules and duties.

Coordinates with community partners and vendors on procurement.

Manages inventory to ensure complete and timely food deliveries.

Works with Communications and Marketing staff in the creation of marketing brochures and is responsible for the purchase, inventory, and display of all printed materials in DCC waiting areas.

Stays current on nutrition equity research, new operational models, and longitudinal data on patient outcomes at cancer centers both regionally and nationwide, and contacts programs for information.

Ensures the DCC Healing Harvest program in Lebanon and other affiliate sites, abide by food safety laws and regulatory requirements, including following protocols for maintenance of cold storage, ranging service for equipment, and coordinating with facilities on food storage, pest control, and other space needs. Develops program policy and operational guidelines and ensures compliance in all locations.

Works in collaboration with Medical and Healthcare Advancement staff regarding philanthropy and donors to the program.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of relevant business or supervisory experience, preferably in a health care environment.

Excellent organization, interpersonal, oral, and writing skills.

Microsoft Office Suite experience.

High level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidential information.

Experience engaging with a diverse population.

Possess an interest in social justice and have experience working with underserved populations.

Ability to maintain professional boundaries and experience with successful engagement with a diverse population including patients, providers, staff members, volunteers, and others to build community and engagement.

Excellent networking and oral/written communication skills with the ability to relate and deal effectively with physicians, administrators, support staff, and the general public with tact and discretion.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Servsafe training within 30 days.
