Full job description

Description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Director to lead a broad people strategy for a Contract position based in Dallas, Texas. This role will guide core HR operations, advise leadership, and help build a workplace culture that supports performance, compliance, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate brings strong business judgment, confidence in leading teams, and the ability to partner effectively across executive and operational groups.

This is a 3-month contract position with potential for contract-to-hire

100% ONSITE 5 days a week in Dallas, Texas 75254

HR Director (contract position):

Responsibilities:

  • Shape and carry out human resources strategies that support organizational priorities and long-term business goals.

  • Direct key HR programs across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, retention, and overall employee experience.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations at the federal, state, local, and international levels in coordination with legal counsel as needed.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees by addressing workplace concerns, resolving employee relations matters, and promoting a constructive work environment.

  • Lead and develop the HR team, ensuring daily operations remain effective while strengthening service delivery across the organization.

  • Create, refine, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and practices that align with company objectives and risk management standards.

  • Partner with executives and operations leaders to provide informed recommendations on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and people-related decisions.

  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and HR administration activities to ensure accurate, consistent, and employee-focused support.

  • Promote workplace safety expectations by reinforcing required training, encouraging timely incident reporting, and supporting safe practices across projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, including oversight within large employee populations.

  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, HR administration, compensation and benefits, and HR compliance.

  • Strong leadership presence with a proven ability to motivate teams, manage change, and work effectively across functions.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly to employees, operations leaders, and executive stakeholders.

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions based on business needs and data.

  • Self-directed, high-energy, and detail-oriented individual with a positive attitude and a track record of maintaining operational continuity while supporting teams.

  • SHRM certification is preferred.
