Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to lead the design and development of embedded firmware and FPGA-based solutions supporting next-generation hardware platforms. This position requires deep expertise in embedded software architecture, real-time systems, FPGA integration, and hardware/software co-development. The ideal candidate will have experience developing low-level firmware for performance-sensitive devices, owning system architecture decisions, and collaborating closely with electrical, FPGA, validation, and systems engineering teams throughout the full product lifecycle. This is a highly visible technical leadership role focused on delivering reliable, scalable embedded solutions for advanced hardware platforms.

Skills and Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field •8+ years of embedded software engineering experience •Expert-level Embedded C development experience •Strong understanding of embedded firmware architecture and real-time systems •Professional FPGA development experience utilizing VHDL and/or Verilog •Experience designing and implementing embedded control systems •Strong hardware/software integration and troubleshooting skills •Experience with system bring-up, debugging, and validation •Experience working with data processing, signal prcessing, or high-throughput data pipelines •Proven ability to own complete development efforts from architecture through deployment •ARM, Cortex-M, STM32, TI, or NXP microcontroller experience •FPGA tool experience including Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus •RTOS development experience •Experience supporting consumer electronics, gaming hardware, robotics, aerospace, defense, or industrial systems •Familiarity with cloud-connected devices and edge computing architectures •Experience with high-speed interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I2C, and UART •Experience collaborating across hardware, firmware, FPGA, and systems engineering organizations
