Full job description

Description

We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to help shape financial strategy and guide informed decision-making across a dynamic healthcare organization in Princeton, New Jersey. This role works closely with senior leaders and operational partners to oversee planning cycles, interpret performance trends, and deliver meaningful insights that support growth and efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, advanced modeling capability, and experience operating within a complex, multi-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and longer-term financial planning activities across multiple teams and service areas.

  • Build and refine financial models that support strategic planning, capital allocation, scenario analysis, and day-to-day business decisions.

  • Produce recurring financial reviews that explain performance results, key variances, emerging risks, and areas of opportunity.

  • Collaborate with department leadership to assess spending, track outcomes, and recommend ways to improve operational and financial effectiveness.

  • Design and strengthen executive reporting tools, performance dashboards, and key metrics used to monitor business results.

  • Examine financial and operational data to uncover performance drivers and support initiatives tied to growth and resource optimization.

  • Prepare analysis and presentation materials for executives, board audiences, and other senior stakeholders.

  • Contribute to planning system administration and help improve reporting processes, analytics capabilities, and workflow efficiency, including work with Adaptive Insights or similar platforms.

  • Partner with accounting and operational teams to align budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting practices across the organization.

  • Lead ad hoc analysis, business case evaluation, and special finance projects requested by senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Background in a hospital FP& A is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

  • Candidates should have 7+ years of progressive experience in FP& A, corporate finance, or a closely related area.

  • Demonstrated strength in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.

  • Experience using budgeting and financial planning software tools.

  • Ability to work effectively with leaders across departments in a complex organizational structure.

  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with hospital revenue cycle concepts and broader healthcare financial operations is preferred.
