Job Purpose & Scope

The Senior Associate, Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical administration, stability, security, maintenance, and continued enhancement of the Workday platform supporting Human Resources and Finance. This role provides hands-on administration of the Workday tenant, environments, integrations, platform security framework, releases, monitoring, and technical support practices throughout implementation, expansion, and ongoing operations. The position partners with Human Resources and Finance business-line administrators, Technology, project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to maintain a secure, reliable, and well-governed platform. Business-line administrators retain ownership of domain business processes, functional operating models, and business configuration decisions.

Essential Job Functions

  • Administers the Workday technical platform, including tenant settings, environments, platform services, security framework, integrations, notifications, scheduled processes, and other shared technical configurations in accordance with approved governance and control standards.

  • Supports Workday implementations, migrations, platform expansions, and major enhancements through environment preparation, technical configuration, integration coordination, data conversion support, testing, issue resolution, deployment readiness, and post-production stabilization.

  • Serves as a primary point of contact for Workday platform administration questions, technical incidents, service requests, and platform enhancement needs supporting Human Resources, Finance, and other stakeholders.

  • Performs triage and root-cause analysis for platform, security, integration, environment, performance, and technical configuration issues; resolves matters within assigned authority and coordinates with business-line administrators or vendors when resolution requires domain process or functional configuration changes.

  • Completes routine platform maintenance and approved technical configuration changes to maintain availability, security, performance, supportability, and alignment with enterprise technology standards.

  • Creates, maintains, and executes technical, integration, security, regression, and platform validation test plans and scripts for Workday releases, implementations, enhancements, integrations, and defect corrections; coordinates domain-specific validation with Human Resources and Finance business-line administrators.

  • Administers the technical aspects of Workday release management by reviewing platform changes, assessing technical impacts, coordinating environment and integration testing, documenting technical decisions, and supporting approved deployment activities.

  • Partners with Human Resources and Finance business-line administrators, Technology, project management, information security, data, and other business units to distinguish platform needs from domain business-process needs and coordinate the appropriate ownership and resolution path.

  • Supports platform and data integrity through technical validation, reconciliation support, audit review, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Workday integrations, scheduled processes, security configuration, environments, and system transactions.

  • Maintains technical platform documentation, tenant and environment records, integration inventories, security configuration records, technical test evidence, support procedures, and operational runbooks so materials accurately reflect the current Workday platform and controls.

  • Administers the Workday security framework and technical access controls in coordination with Information Security and designated business-line administrators, following the Bank’s access management, confidentiality, least-privilege, and segregation-of-duties requirements.

  • Coordinates with Workday, implementation partners, and other third-party vendors to research platform issues, manage technical dependencies, evaluate platform solutions, and support successful delivery and ongoing operation.

  • Provides technical guidance and knowledge transfer to business-line administrators, business users, and support teams regarding Workday platform capabilities, technical constraints, support procedures, integrations, environments, and security administration.

  • Acts as a subject matter resource for assigned projects and exercises sound discretion and judgment in the performance of essential job functions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Workday platform architecture and administration, including tenants, environments, security framework, integrations, scheduled processes, reporting infrastructure, release management, monitoring, and enterprise application support.

  • Knowledge of systems implementation and migration activities, including environment planning, technical configuration, data conversion support, integration testing, deployment, and post-production support.

  • Knowledge of effective product testing practices, defect management, change control, release management, and system documentation.

  • Ability to evaluate stakeholder requirements and distinguish technical platform responsibilities from business-process, functional configuration, and operating-model responsibilities owned by Human Resources and Finance business-line administrators.

  • Ability to troubleshoot standard, sensitive, and complex platform, environment, data, access, security, integration, and workflow execution issues while protecting confidential employee, financial, and Bank information.

  • Ability to communicate technical findings, platform constraints, risks, dependencies, and recommended actions clearly to business-line administrators, technical resources, vendors, and leaders at all levels.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective technical solutioning, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and sound judgment.

  • Ability to work independently without close supervision while collaborating effectively within cross-functional implementation and support teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines.

  • Ability to adapt to change, facilitate process improvements, and support users through system and operational transitions.

  • Ability to learn and apply new Workday platform functionality, administration methods, security capabilities, integration patterns, and technical support practices across multiple functional domains.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee, financial, and business information.

  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary to accomplish work objectives.

  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, business, finance, human resources, or a job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience supporting or administering enterprise business systems, ERP platforms, financial systems, HR technology, banking technology, or similar applications, required.

  • Experience with Workday, including tenant or platform administration, security administration, integrations, environment management, technical testing, implementation, release support, reporting infrastructure, or production support, required.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with enterprise platform administrator responsibilities, including technical support, issue triage, tenant and environment maintenance, documentation, access administration, integration support, testing, monitoring, and change control, required.

  • Experience participating in a Workday implementation, migration, module deployment, major enhancement, or post-production support environment involving shared platform services across Human Resources, Finance, or related enterprise functions, preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience with information technology and/or project management methodologies, such as Waterfall or Agile, preferred.
