Full job description

Senior BIOS Engineer, Workstations Description - Location Requirement Candidates must perform the job in Taiwan and be authorized to work in Taiwan.

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced BIOS engineering professional to contribute to the design and development of workstation platforms. This role combines deep technical expertise in BIOS and firmware development with cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams, ODM partners, and product stakeholders. The successful candidate will help shape platform architecture, enhance firmware quality, and support future technology roadmaps while remaining actively involved in technical development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, and integrate BIOS and firmware solutions for workstation platforms throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with ODM partners and internal engineering teams to ensure successful firmware development, validation, issue resolution, and product delivery.
  • Review firmware designs and development activities to ensure alignment with architecture, quality, security, and reliability requirements.
  • Contribute technical expertise across system components, including embedded controllers, storage controllers, networking controllers, system management functions, FPGA implementations, and related firmware technologies.
  • Define firmware development guidelines, architecture principles, design patterns, technical specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Support adoption of new technologies, firmware frameworks, and innovation initiatives while sharing knowledge with team members and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 15+ years of hands-on BIOS and firmware development experience, including strong coding and debugging capabilities.
  • Proven experience developing BIOS solutions for PC or workstation platforms, with a strong understanding of firmware architecture and hardware interaction.
  • Demonstrated experience working with ODM partners while maintaining a strong technical engineering focus.
  • Effective communication skills in English and Mandarin, with the ability to collaborate across global teams and present technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AMD-based platforms and associated BIOS development environments.
  • Familiarity with firmware design tools, validation methodologies, automated testing, debugging scripts, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience participating in cross-functional technical reviews, architecture discussions, and future product planning activities.
  • Understanding of ODM and Independent BIOS Vendor (IBV) development models within the PC or workstation industry.
