The Facilities Specialist oversees the maintenance of the buildings and grounds, working with administrative personnel to ensure proper use of building resources. They serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external contractors on all matters pertaining to the North Little Rock Safe Foods facility, while also executing facility-related administrative and event coordination needs.

  • Facilities & Maintenance

  • Oversee all aspects of the exterior grounds, including but not limited to fencing, external security devices, and rail spur upkeep by coordinating resources when needed to address repairs.

  • Identify contractors, negotiate and manage contracts related to interior and exterior grounds maintenance, ensuring services are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner (e.g., snow/ice removal, janitorial services, pest control, HVAC, and security systems).

  • Coordinate with SFCI personnel to ensure the facility is “tour ready” for visitors, customer site tours, and internal company events.

  • Coordinate facility repair needs (e.g., plumbing, roofing, painting) and team up with in-house Maintenance leadership when appropriate.

  • Manage employee and visitor badge administration and maintain locker assignments.

  • Maintain appropriate levels of operational and janitorial supplies and reorder as needed.

Administrative & Event Coordination

  • Assist with planning and execution of on-site meetings, tours, and company events (e.g., safety celebrations, training sessions, town halls, and employee appreciation activities).

  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating use of conference rooms, common areas, and visitor spaces, ensuring proper setup, catering, and A/V readiness.

  • Maintain facility records, vendor contracts, service logs, and inspection documentation in an organized and accessible manner.

  • Process purchase orders, invoices, and work orders for facilities-related services and supplies.

  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments and vendors to ensure smooth coordination of deliveries, installations, and event needs.

  • Provide liason to the Maintenance Manager and other facility management, including scheduling, document preparation, and communication tracking.

  • Assist with safety committee initiatives, facility walkthrough documentation, and coordination of emergency preparedness drills.

  • Assist with new employee onboarding by preparing workspace assignments and facility access.

  • Other duties as assigned.

YOUR MUST HAVES:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (“GED”).

  • 2 years related experience.

  • 1 year of vendor management experience.

WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE:

  • Basic 110 electrical knowledge, ohm meter use.

  • Experience with general hand tools and performing light repair work (e.g. sheet rock, door, window, and other repairs).

  • Ability to read/understand blueprints.

  • Light plumbing experience, (e.g. sink repair/basic plumbing).

OUR ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based in our manufacturing plant environment. Expected exposure to wet, hot, cold, various shifts, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Constant (role requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hrs/day)

Use of fingers and hands. Lift/Carry 10 lbs or less & push/pull 12 lbs or less.

Frequently (role requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hrs/day)

Stand, climb stairs, walk, sit, reach outward, squat/kneel, bend. Lift/Carry 11-50 lbs & push/pull 13-40 lbs.

Occasional (role requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hrs/day)

Climb & crawl. Lift/Carry 51+ lbs & push/pull 41-100 lbs.
