In this high-impact role, you'll work at the intersection of DevOps, virtualization, containerization, release engineering, and infrastructure automation . You'll help create secure, scalable, and repeatable deployment environments across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and edge systems while collaborating with talented software, systems, QA, security, and operations teams.

What You'll Do

As a Sr DevOps Engineer , you'll play a key role within a larger software development team, rapidly delivering operational capabilities to the field.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple deployment approaches across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.

  • Automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to create reliable and consistent environments throughout the delivery lifecycle.

  • Optimizing and standardizing deployment workflows to establish repeatable release processes across varying product and customer requirements.

  • Designing and managing complex infrastructure using virtualization, containerization, and orchestration technologies .

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and improving system performance and reliability across distributed systems and complex integrations.

  • Working hands-on with technologies including RHEL KVM, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, GitHub, and CI/CD tooling .

  • Establishing virtualization and containerization environments for edge deployments and stand-alone compute systems .

  • Collaborating with development, QA, security, product, and operations teams to align deployment strategies with architectural, security, and operational requirements.

  • Driving continuous improvement by refining operational tooling and developing best-practice documentation for deployment and release operations.

  • Supporting configuration control and coordinating release-readiness activities.

  • Creating process documentation and helping train engineers on environment configuration and deployment.

  • Mentoring software and systems engineers while promoting strong DevOps methodologies and engineering practices.

  • Communicating effectively with team members and key stakeholders.

Travel may be required. This position requires the ability to work effectively in an office or hybrid environment.

What You Must Have

We're looking for a seasoned DevOps professional with strong technical depth and the ability to operate successfully in a collaborative, fast-paced engineering environment.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field .

  • 8+ years of DevOps or related professional experience .

  • A higher-level relevant degree may substitute for some experience.

  • Relevant professional experience may also be considered in place of the required education. Without a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.

Technical & Professional Qualifications

  • Hands-on virtualization development experience with extensive knowledge of designing and deploying software using RHEL KVM and VMware technologies .

  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or OpenShift and related container ecosystems.

  • Experience implementing virtualization and containerization environments within edge deployments or stand-alone compute systems .

  • Demonstrated experience implementing microservices and containers .

  • Experience with developer tools such as GitHub .

  • Strong understanding of release engineering and CI/CD pipelines .

  • Proven ability to deliver reliable, high-quality, and consistent systems and development environments.

  • Strong knowledge of system performance, reliability, distributed systems, infrastructure provisioning, and configuration management .

  • Ability to quickly take ownership of projects and work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills .

  • Ability to succeed in a highly collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English .

  • This position requires a security clearance, and candidates are required to be U.S. Citizens.

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out even more if you bring:

  • Master's degree in a related field.

  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience.

  • Experience operating across multiple security domains and air-gapped systems .

  • Advanced proficiency with Ansible , including creating and maintaining playbooks.

  • Experience coordinating release-readiness activities .

  • Experience implementing and enforcing configuration control across development environments.

  • Experience generating technical/process documentation and training engineers on environment configuration and deployment.

Preferred Certifications

Relevant certifications may include:

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization

Pay Details: $88.04 per hour
