Full job description

Description

We are looking for an HR Generalist to provide hands-on human resources support for an organization in Clearlake, California. This Contract position will serve as a key resource for employees and leaders, offering guidance on workplace policies, employee relations, compliance, and day-to-day HR practices. The role also contributes to onboarding, performance support, and operational improvement efforts while helping maintain consistent HR standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise supervisors and staff on human resources policies, workplace concerns, and standard employment practices to promote fair and consistent decision-making.

  • Review employee relations matters, gather relevant information, and handle routine investigations while escalating complex or high-risk situations when appropriate.

  • Support corrective action processes by helping leaders prepare documentation and apply established guidelines accurately.

  • Examine workforce and HR-related data to identify patterns, support local recommendations, and highlight issues that may affect operations.

  • Assist with hiring and onboarding activities to help new employees transition smoothly into hospital and clinic environments.

  • Contribute to performance management, employee engagement, and compliance-related programs through coordinated local implementation.

  • Participate in workforce planning discussions by preparing trend information, historical context, and policy-based input for management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on HR projects, training efforts, and process execution to reinforce compliance and best practices.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Typically 2–4 years of progressive experience in human resources.

  • Working knowledge of employee relations, policy interpretation, compliance practices, and HR administration.

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and apply sound judgment in confidential situations.

  • Experience preparing documentation, supporting investigations, and guiding managers through performance or corrective action matters.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to review data and translate findings into practical recommendations.

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to support employees, leaders, and cross-functional teams in a service-oriented environment.
