Overview

Shift’s Available: Days

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 10 hour shifts (4 days per week - no weekends/no holidays/no call)

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center - Kansas City, MO

Cardiovascular RNs assist cardiologists by offering direct care to patients with acute or chronic cardiovascular diseases. They may use electrocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular monitoring to evaluate the heart health of our patients.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

As a Cardiology RN you will be primarily be responsible for performing cardiac procedures such as nuclear stress testing  and stress echo's among other clinical duties.

  • Assess patients' cardiac health through physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, and monitoring vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation

  • Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and interpret electrocardiograms (ECGs) to identify irregularities or signs of distress

  • Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care techniques to manage their condition effectively

  • Respond to cardiac emergencies such as cardiac arrests or acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) by initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) protocols

  • Maintain efficient work flow in busy office setting to facilitate on time schedule.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state RN License.

  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

  • Current ACLS Certification 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

  • Telemetry, Cath Lab or ER experience highly preferred

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing highly preferred

  • Strong IV start skills
