Job Summary
ââSouthwire's Finance Development Program recognizes early emergent talent from recent college graduates and serves as a pipeline for talented college graduates to enter Southwire on a full-time basis after graduation. This program is designed to successfully develop future business leaders through a combination of diverse rotational assignments, targeted training, continuous coaching and development. As a participant in this three-year program, you will have exposure to many accounting and finance operations and business leaders for one of North America's leading manufacturers in the wire and cable industry. You will gain on the job and project work experience along with leadership skills by completing four financial rotations: operational (plant) accounting, financial planning and analysis and commercial finance in two divisions.â
Key Responsibilities

Administers finance operations across multiple departments, ensuring that financial processes, such as invoicing, budgeting, and forecasting, are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Analyzes somewhat complex financial data, identifying trends and anomalies in financial performance and collaborating with senior team members to provide actionable insights.

Applies knowledge of finance principles to support daily operational needs, assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with established standards.

Coordinates somewhat complex financial processes, ensuring alignment between different teams and departments to meet deadlines for quarterly and annual reporting.

Completes routine financial analysis tasks as part of the rotational program, including preparing financial reports and compiling necessary data for budgeting or auditing purposes.

Examines financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the data before presentation to management for strategic decision-making.

Identifies opportunities to streamline financial processes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and minimize errors in financial data management.

Implements standard financial procedures and processes, assisting senior finance professionals in integrating process improvements across various teams within the department.

Communicates financial results and insights to both internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring clarity and understanding of financial data in non-financial terms.
