Full job description

Description Robert Half is working with a well-established manufacturing and construction-focused company in Burlingame, CA. Our client is seeking a hands-on Part-Time HR Generalist to provide day-to-day human resources support across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR detail oriented who enjoys being a hands-on HR resource, working directly with employees and managers, and keeping HR processes organized and running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within an HRIS, preferably Rippling, and be comfortable handling a broad range of HR responsibilities including employee records, onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits administration, compliance, and employee support.

Key Responsibilities Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding day-to-day HR questions and requests. Manage and maintain accurate employee records within Rippling HRIS. Process employee onboarding, offboarding, status changes, and other employee lifecycle transactions. Coordinate new-permanent onboarding, including required paperwork, I-9s, W-4s, policies, and system setup. Maintain employee files and ensure HR documentation is accurate and up to date. Assist with payroll-related activities and partner with payroll providers to resolve discrepancies. Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee questions. Track employee time-off, leaves, and other employee status information. Assist with recruiting, job postings, interview coordination, background checks, and new-permanent preparation as needed. Help administer company policies and ensure employees receive and acknowledge required documentation. Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. Assist with workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and other employee-related matters. Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and employee data as needed. Partner with management on employee relations, performance issues, and workplace concerns. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, and overall employee experience. Provide general administrative support to the HR function as needed. Requirements 3+ years of hands-on HR Generalist experience preferred. Experience working in Rippling HRIS strongly preferred. Strong understanding of employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits, payroll coordination, and HR administration. Working knowledge of California employment practices and HR compliance. Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of HR responsibilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and HR systems. Manufacturing, construction, engineering, or other small-to-mid-sized company experience is a plus. TalentMatch®
