Cloud Solution Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Solutions Architect to design and deliver cloud and on-premises business solutions. This role will connect business requirements with practical technical designs while providing direction and oversight throughout development and deployment. The ideal candidate combines application development and cloud architecture experience with strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. This person must be comfortable moving between strategic conversations, architectural design, developer guidance, technical reviews, and production troubleshooting. The architecture organization is evolving toward a more centralized operating model. This role will help shape that transition while supporting current projects in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, or architecting enterprise software solutions.
• Hands-on application development, software engineering, or application architecture background.
• Experience designing solutions within AWS, Azure, or a multi-cloud environment.
• Ability to create and communicate conceptual, logical, and physical architecture diagrams.
• Experience working directly with software developers in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud application architecture, integrations, middleware, and service-oriented design.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues across applications, cloud services, and deployments.
• Strong communication, presentation, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and business audiences.
• Strong collaboration, adaptability, and independent problem-solving skills.
• Three or more years of Solutions Architecture, Application Architecture, or related technical design experience.
• Two or more years of project oversight or technical delivery leadership.
• Career progression from Senior Software Developer, Principal Engineer, Application Architect, or a comparable hands-on engineering role.
• Experience with AWS services, including serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda.
• Experience with Azure architecture will also be considered, particularly when accompanied by strong cloud fundamentals.
• Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, reporting systems, and analytics environments.
• Experience supporting custom applications, internal tools, integrations, or business platforms.
• Exposure to requirements planning, cost analysis, and build-versus-buy evaluations.
• Experience presenting technical designs to architecture, security, or governance review groups.
