Full job description

Exceptional Service, Endless Improvement, Passionate People, and Honest and Forthright. Guided by our values, we foster a culture of growth, balance, and belonging where every team member can thrive

We are looking for a knowledgeable and client-focused CMMC Client Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to assigned clients, helping them navigate CMMC requirements, develop compliance strategies, and maintain alignment with applicable cybersecurity standards. You will work closely with client stakeholders and internal technical teams to assess compliance needs, address gaps, and guide clients through their ongoing compliance journey. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who builds lasting client relationships, understands CMMC requirements, and can translate complex compliance standards into practical business recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to assigned clients, aligning CMMC compliance efforts with business objectives and security requirements.

  • Communicate CMMC requirements, compliance risks, and recommendations to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

  • Assess client environments to identify compliance gaps, evaluate security practices, and recommend areas for improvement.

  • Develop and maintain CMMC compliance roadmaps, track remediation efforts, and guide clients through readiness milestones.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for CMMC guidance, strategic planning, and escalations.

  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to define remediation priorities, scope compliance-related projects, and support implementation efforts.

  • Lead client meetings and business reviews to discuss compliance progress, outstanding requirements, risks, and recommended next steps.

  • Provide ongoing guidance on compliance documentation, policies, procedures, and evidence required to support assessment readiness.

  • Monitor changes to CMMC requirements and communicate relevant updates and recommendations to clients.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT consulting, cybersecurity, compliance, or technical account management, preferably within a managed service provider (MSP) environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with CMMC compliance, NIST SP 800-171, cybersecurity frameworks, or regulatory compliance initiatives.

  • Experience working directly with clients and business leaders to assess requirements, communicate risks, and develop actionable strategies.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices, compliance assessments, remediation planning, and security documentation.

  • Relevant industry certifications, such as CMMC Certified Professional (CCP), CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA), Security+, CISSP, or other cybersecurity and compliance certifications, are preferred.

  • Familiarity with ConnectWise, Microsoft 365, and common cybersecurity and IT management tools is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and compliance requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills, with a commitment to follow-through in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage client relationships and compliance initiatives independently and with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work an average of approximately 47 hours per week, including occasional evening client dinners and industry events.

  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license and successfully pass a background check.
