Minster, OH, USA | Engineering Co-Op | Part Time

Mechanical Engineering Co-op - Summer of 2027

Job Summary

Nidec Press & Automation is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op who is looking to advance their knowledge by gaining hands-on work experience. Job responsibilities will primarily consist of creating and modifying CAD drawings, documenting designs, and problem solving in a team environment under the mentorship of an experienced engineer. Some travel may be required, including occasional travel to trouble-shoot press systems in our customer's plants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and revise 3D models and associated 2D drawings as required.

  • Assist mechanical design, modeling/calculations, and component selection in new product design and development.

  • Appropriately document specifications for any purchased item which may be needed.

  • Assist with any questions originating from the manufacturing environment (weld shop, machine shop, assembly).

  • Provide technical assistance to other departments and our customers

  • The Mechanical Engineering co-op will work closely with full-time Mechanical Engineers and gain more responsibility as experience and skills progress.

Qualifications

College Students:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA

  • Copy of Transcript Upon Request

  • Location: Onsite at Nidec Minster Manufacturing facility
