The University of Vermont’s Philosophy Department invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Lecturer. The position will start in Fall 2027 and is renewable based on favorable review.

We have teaching needs in non-Western and ancient philosophies and would welcome candidates with interests in, among others, political philosophy and AI.

The standard teaching load is 4-4. The successful candidate will teach courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate level. That candidate must have at least an M.A. in Philosophy. Ph.D. is preferred.
