Job Summary and Qualifications
Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager and Administrative Director of Laboratory Services, The Medical/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Lead (MT) performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory, assists in instructing other personnel as assigned, and performs with a perceptive depth of clinical laboratory tests and procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility. The incumbent receives or obtains specimens for laboratory analysis and applies techniques used in fields of bacteriology, parasitology, hematology, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, chemical and morphological examinations to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. To assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times. Knowledgeable of laws, regulations and standards of accrediting agencies. Must possess the ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Awareness of consequences for reporting errors. Ability to work under emergency conditions. Ability to maintain attention to detail for extended periods of time.
What qualifications you will need:
A. Education/Skills Associates Degree. Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications preferred. Associate’s Degree of Clinical Laboratory Science.
B. Experience Minimum of 5 years general lab as MLT or equivalent clinical laboratory training. 5 years or more preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications NCA, ASCP, HEW or AMT, TN license preferred.
