Full job description

We are looking for an Entry Level Structural Engineer who is excited about enabling the heart of our clients’ business, to join our Federal Buildings team in Atlanta, GA, Orlando, FL, or Knoxville, TN.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing team focused primarily on Federal delivery yet expanding into private sector client space. In this position you’ll work on projects ranging from the design of new, multi-building complexes to full-scale renovations of historic structures.

As part of this team, you will perform increasingly complex calculations and analysis as the structural design is developed, and learn to work with our Designers to get the structural requirements communicated on paper and in the model. You will develop a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Structural Engineering, gaining experience in multiple subject areas, and learning how Structural design integrates with and impacts other disciplines. You will also develop understanding of principles of analysis and design of vertical and lateral structural systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards. With mentorship and guidance from our Professional Engineers and technical experts, you will grow to become an integral member of the design team, counted on to assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for our projects.

To be successful in this position you will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Structural Lead, Project Managers, Professional Engineers, and Designers across different disciplines. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control, being committed to checking their own work and reaching out to peers and seniors for guidance when questions arise. As a member of our team, you must be ready for the responsibility of managing your own workload. Meeting commitments and taking ownership of your portion of the structural scope, reliably working to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.

Bring your desire to develop your engineering knowledge and professional judgment, and your exceptional organizational skills and we’ll help you grow, and pursue what drives you - so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, with a clear emphasis on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification

  • 0-2 years relevant work experience

  • This position is considered hybrid and will require you to work in the local office or project site a minimum of 2 days per week

  • Internet service with a MINIMUM speed of 25Mbps download/10Mbps upload as required to effectively meet project performance requirements (higher internet speed is recommended)

Ideally, you will have

  • MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering

  • Previous relevant internship experience in Structural Engineering, preferably with experience analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.

  • Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam

  • Familiarity with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
