Full job description
Overview We’re hiring a Quality Engineer to lead and improve quality systems supporting industrial component deconstruction, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and re-assembly. This is a hands-on quality engineering role combining Quality Management System (QMS) ownership, internal and customer audits, corrective actions, risk management, documentation, and continuous improvement. You’ll work across Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Sales to resolve quality issues, strengthen processes, and ensure products and operations consistently meet internal, customer, and industry requirements. Compensation
- Salary: $85k - $95k
Requirements Responsibilities
- Quality Management System: Maintain and continuously improve the site QMS to meet internal, customer, and applicable quality standard requirements.
- Audit Leadership: Plan and lead internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits, including preparation, documentation of findings, corrective actions, and closure.
- Corrective Actions: Own CAR/PAR and product action processes, including containment, root cause investigation, corrective action implementation, and effectiveness verification.
- Risk Management: Lead PFMEA and other risk management activities to identify, prioritize, mitigate, and monitor manufacturing and product quality risks.
- Quality Systems: Lead TQMS programs and modules including Layered Process Audits (LPA), Outgoing Quality Audits (OQA), and Error Proofing Verification (EPV).
- Documentation & Traceability: Maintain controlled documents, work instructions, quality records, Certificates of Conformance (COCs), training records, and audit traceability.
- Process & Packaging Quality: Develop and validate packaging specifications and process controls, investigate failures, and implement improvements.
- Quality Metrics: Collect, analyze, and report quality data to identify trends, prioritize problems, and drive measurable improvements.
- Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues.
- Training & Projects: Develop quality training, assess effectiveness, and manage quality improvement projects from planning through implementation.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical field
- 1–2+ years of quality engineering or quality systems experience
- Experience supporting or maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS)
- Experience with audits, corrective actions, and root cause problem solving
- Working knowledge of PFMEA and manufacturing risk management
- Strong Excel and quality data analysis skills
- Strong project management, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a manufacturing organization
Preferred
- Quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Internal, customer, supplier, or third-party audit experience
- CAR/PAR or CAPA process ownership experience
- Layered Process Audit (LPA) experience
- Experience with OQA, EPV, or similar manufacturing quality systems
- Document control and employee training program experience
- Packaging or manufacturing process validation experience
- Experience working directly with customers and suppliers on quality issues
