Job Duties
Handles instruments, supplies and equipment during the surgical procedure functions under the direction of the sponsoring physician and within the privileges granted by the governing board. He/she has an understanding of the procedure and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Is constantly on vigil for maintaining a sterile field. He/she had the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure
Minimum Education Required
Minimum Qualifications:
LPN degree in nursing, or associates in surgical technology
BLS
One year as a scrub nurse, or minimum 2 years nursing.
Minimum Experience Required
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in surgical technology and/or Central supply/sterilization
1 years’ experience in Surgical services
Associates in surgical technology
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and stand for long periods of time
